2027: expect familiar faces back in the house, plus some new ones we can't name yet
The Pitch

Our world is at a precipice, but the discourse is somehow still boring.

So we're taking over a sprawling Berkeley campus, filling it with smart, charismatic creators, a dash of incredible mentors, and a sprinkle of AI experts, then shaking the whole thing to see what happens.

We'll give you free room and board. There's just one catch:

post 15 seconds of video every day, or you're out.

We're looking for scrappy, undiscovered, experimental creators: people who just need the right environment to make something great.

Questions
We are in the process of fundraising to run three more cohorts in 2027 but are not sure yet. We hope the next will be in January 2027 but everything is tentative. Applications are still open regardless but we make no promises that we will run. Follow our twitter for updates.
No! Make videos about whatever you want. It is often very hard to get fellows to believe that you do not have to make videos about AI x-risk while they are here, but really, we just want you to make good videos. If later on you decide that you want to make content about AI, great, if not, that’s also fine with us.
We want creative geniuses, not just people who are already worried about AI doom. Some of you will probably wind up worried. Others won’t. This is fine. We’d like everybody to rub off on each other. Plus, it’s hard to constrain creativity. If you’re required to think inside the “AI worry” box, you might miss cool opportunities or ideas elsewhere. If you’re a creative genius, we just want you to do your thing.
Founders: Aella and Ronny Fernandez.
We are a charitable organization. We've received funding from MIRI and others. Currently we are waiting to hear back from Lightcone Commons to find out if we have funding to run more programs in 2027.
No. It's better if you do, but it's not required, and we have spots set aside for brand new creators.
You go home. We're really, genuinely not kidding about this. 15 seconds of video a day, every day, for the month.
You must post 15 seconds of video per day. Multiple submissions are permitted. They do not have to be good, but if you are consistently producing crap, we might talk to you about it and try to see if we can’t brainstorm some higher effort interesting stuff for you to try.
Yes. Room, food, wifi, existential dread - all covered. Accepted applicants also get a $2,000 stipend. You just need to get yourself to Berkeley.
No. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis - apply whenever, and we’ll get back to you as spots fill up. Earlier is still better.
Yes. Accepted applicants get a $2,000 stipend.
